Faith and Service Project FAQs

What is the goal of the Year 3 TFS Project?

The goal is to help selected organizations move from successful project implementation to institutionalization and sustainability. Year 3 aims to make the integration of youth faith formation, service, and justice an enduring, core organizational priority beyond grant funding.

What type of grant awards are available?

There are two types of grants available for Year 3: Single-Organization Core Priority Grants ($100,000) and Collaborative Core Priority Grants ($215,000).

What if I missed the informational sessions?

All informational sessions (held on October 27 and November 10, 2026) will be recorded and shared with prior TFS grantees.

What if our project team changes? Or if the project lead leaves, does the grant follow them?

The grant remains with the organization. Year 3 requires evidence that organizational leadership supports the continued integration of this work and that responsibility for its future extends beyond the individual staff member managing the grant (including executive-level support).

Can organizations that were not a part of TFS in Year 1 or 2 apply for Year 3?

No. Applicants must have received and successfully implemented a TENx10 TFS Year 2 grant, or demonstrate the continuation of efforts related to a TFS Year 1 grant if they were not a Year 2 grantee.

Are we allowed to work with those who are over 18 years of age?

You may equip additional core staff, leaders, or partners, but your project must maintain a clear focus on the faith formation of 13–18-year-olds through service or justice integrated with intentional biblical and theological reflection.

Can projects serve youth outside the U.S.?

No. Organizations must be based in the United States and meet TFS financial and organizational eligibility requirements.

Can two separate organizations collaborate on a project? Does the other organization need to be a TFS grantee or TENx10 partner?

Yes, organizations can collaborate. We offer a Collaborative Core Priority Grant to help organizations combine complementary strengths to multiply their impact. Collaborating partners should work together to build lasting capacity and embed promising approaches.

Does the project have to happen within a specific timeframe?

Yes. The Year 3 grant period begins in March 2027 and concludes with final Year 3 reporting and celebration in December 2027.

Are there dates or events that Year 3 grantees are expected to attend?

Yes. Grantees commit to participate in required TENx10 and TFS learning and capacity-building opportunities during Year 3. This includes four TFS Zoom webinars, TFS Day and the TENx10 Summit (anticipated October 14-16, 2027), and other additional TFS activities.

When is TFS Day and TENx10 Summit 2027?

TFS Day and the TENx10 Summit are anticipated to take place October 14-16, 2027.

What is TFS Day, and how is it connected to the TENx10 Summit?

TFS Day and the TENx10 Summit are integrated learning and capacity-building events that grantees are required to attend. They are scheduled to take place together from October 14-16, 2027 (anticipated).

Do collaborating organizations have to participate in the TFS webinars and TFS Day?

Yes, all grantees are expected to commit to participating in the required learning and capacity-building opportunities, which include the four TFS Zoom webinars and the TFS Day and TENx10 Summit.

When are the Mid-Year and Final Reports due?

Mid-project reporting is due in July 2027, and final Year 3 reporting is due in December 2027.

How much is each recipient eligible to receive?

Single-Organization Core Priority Grants are eligible for up to $100,000. Collaborative Core Priority Grants are eligible for up to $215,000.

When will grant funds be disbursed?

The Year 3 grant period begins in March 2027. The second 50% disbursement of grant funds will occur in July 2027 following the submission of the mid-project report.

Do you have any suggestions for best practices to determine how funds are divided among collaborators?

Applicants must include a reasonable and strategic budget that aligns with the organizations' needs and goals. The proposed amounts should be proportionate to the work being undertaken by each partner to build lasting capacity and sustain the work beyond TFS funding.
